Privacy & Location

Atlas is a location-based exploration app. Location data is used to detect your proximity to points of interest in real time. Your position is processed for app functionality and is not sold or shared with third-party advertisers.

Background location allows Atlas to detect when you enter the vicinity of a point of interest without the app being open. We use battery-efficient significant-location updates that only trigger on meaningful movement.

No. Atlas does not use advertising SDKs, does not collect IDFA, and does not share personal data with advertisers.

Account

Atlas uses Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. We do not store passwords, and there is no separate email/password registration.

Go to Settings > Delete Account in the app. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, activity history, and social connections. Anonymized crash data may be retained for service improvement.

Yes. Enable Private Profile in Settings to restrict your activity and detailed stats to your approved connections only.

Safety & Moderation

Open the relevant profile, activity item, or group content, tap the context menu, and select Report. Choose a reason and optionally add a description. Our team reviews reports within a reasonable timeframe and takes action on content that violates our Terms of Service.

Open the user's profile, tap the menu icon in the top-right corner, and select Block. Blocking hides their content from you, removes any existing friend connection, and prevents them from interacting with you. You can unblock from the same menu at any time.

Technical

Atlas requires you to be physically within approximately 35 meters of the point of interest. Ensure:

• Location permission is granted and set to "Always" or "While Using".
• GPS accuracy is high (outdoors, away from buildings).
• You are near the actual historical location, not a generalized pin.

If the issue persists, contact support with the place name.

Atlas supports iOS 17 and later. Older versions are not supported.
